Is It Okay For Men To Cry?

For us women we can be very emotional. We will cry at the end of a movie, if we see a hurt puppy, or for any reason that touches our “soft” side. What about men? Is it okay for men to cry? Is there a certain time that is acceptable for them to show there emotions? They are human beings to although they don't show emotions like women do they still cry, right?

Thoughts Of Men

Many men have very different outlooks on this topic. Some men say “No it is not okay to cry, men don't cry.” While some say, “Yes it is perfectly normal for a man to cry just not over the stuff that some women do.” The men that say that is isn't okay for a man to cry might be dealing with emotion issues, they may have also gotten brought up with the saying “big boys don't cry.” Some men think crying is a sign of weakness, so they will hold back their tears.

With men that say yes it is okay to cry, are 100% comfortable with it. Many men see nothing wrong with crying, although there are “silent rules” that they will not cross.

The “silent rules” are,

1. Never cry in public,

2. Never cry around women unless you are with them (such as a wife or sister),

3. Do not cry when you get hurt it shows weakness,

4. Last but not least, only cry with people that you love and trust.

Thoughts Of Women

Most women say that they wish men were more sensitive. Is that really what we want? You make think that it is, but are you sure? If you said yes to those questions let me give you something to ponder on. Imagine your man now a sensitive man. He will watch all those lifetime movies and chick flicks with you, he will also cry at the end of everyone. You are having a magical night, he starts crying and having a meltdown for no reason. Do we really want men as emotional as us women or just a little more than they are now?

Now I am not saying that there is anything wrong with a man crying. I personally think all men are different.

The Conclusion

Everyone cries, there is nothing wrong with that. As long as he doesn't cry as much or more than you than I would be happy. All men have that soft side, you have to find the weak point that all men have for why they don't share there emotions with you. Some men need to know you'll be there for him. Make sure the first time he does cry you don't make him feel any less of a man or make him feel bad for crying. Everyone cries, women do more than men, that is how it always was.
