Why Men Hide Their Emotions

Many women wonder why men hide their emotions. There are a couple different reasons. This all depends on the man of course, one man might hide it for a different reason than another. We are going to go over a few reasons why men hide their emotions.

Feelings Are Feminine

One reason is men think that sharing their feelings are to feminine. Men grow up seeing women talk, gossip, opening up to one another, and crying. They see their father watching sports or doing work. When they fall many parents say 'big boys don't cry' as opposed to when a little girl falls they might baby her more. As there is nothing wrong with that, it just puts a mental note in the boys head that he isn't suppose to express or show his feelings. So the next time he falls he will not cry but instead hide it.

Wired Brain

Another reason might be that he was never good at expressing his feelings in the first place. Some people think that it is 'wired' in a mans brain to not show their emotions. Although this was never proven this is what some people are lead to believe.

Insecurity

The last reason and most common believed reason is that men are insecure. Men believe that they are suppose to be manly and strong. They think that showing their emotions might make them less as a man. They are thinking insecurely that their wife of significant other might find that they are not manly enough for them. They need to be macho and manly to show that they can protect and take care of their family.
